Apple Watch automatically calls for help after the rider is hit-&-run accident

It is not uncommon for Apple Watch to save the user’s life. Its built-in fall detection function can notify the user’s emergency contact or ambulance service in an emergency, such as when the user accidentally falls and cannot move. Recently, there have been examples that once again prove that the fall alert function of the Apple Watch can really save lives.

According to Mothership, a motorcycle rider Muhammad Fitri was hit by a van in Singapore recently. The van immediately escaped from the site, and Muhammad Fitri fell into a coma quickly because of a severe fall. As there were few vehicles and not many pedestrians on that section of the road at the time of the incident, no one could find him in a coma in time.
Fortunately, Muhammad Fitri’s Apple Watch detected this accident, and after detecting that he was not moving, he immediately sent a message to his emergency contact, that is, his girlfriend, and through the connected iPhone called an ambulance. Due to the timely alarm, the ambulance staff can rush to the scene during the prime time and send Muhammad Fitri to the hospital for treatment. If there was no Apple Watch at the time, it is very likely that this accident would turn into a tragedy.

In fact, it’s not just Apple Watch, Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 3, or other smartwatches that have this fall detection function.
