AMD will officially release the third-generation EPYC processor on March 15

AMD officially confirmed that the third-generation EPYC server-grade processor “Milan” will be released online at 8 am PT/11 am ET on March 15, 2021, when AMD CEO and other executives will do Keynote Speech.

The EPYC Milan series of processors will be the last generation of the SP3 platform. Compared with the previous generation of processors, EPYC Rome’s performance has been fully evolved.

Previously leaked data showed that the performance of this series of processors is above Intel’s next-generation server-class processors

In terms of parameters, EPYC Milan series processors have been confirmed to have at least 19 SKUs (versions), all of which will be manufactured by TSMC with a 7nm process and the processors will use Zen 3 architecture.

The most powerful processor in this series is EPYC 7763, with 64 cores, a basic frequency of 2.45GHz, an acceleration frequency of 3.50GHz, and a 256MB L3 cache and 32MB L2 cache.

In addition, EPYC Milan series processors also provide 32, 24, 16, 56, 48, 28, and 8 core number SKU options. Among them, the basic frequency of 3.25GHz is EPYC 75F3, the number of cores is 32, and the TDP is 280W.

AMD EPYC Milan series processors will face head-on competition from Intel’s third-generation Xeon series processors after the release.
