AMD to launch the 3rd generation EPYC and Milan processor on March 15th

AMD is ready to launch new server processors, and the company plans to hold an online conference on March 15th at a local time to launch these processors.

This online conference will be hosted by many senior executives of AMD, including AMD CEO Dr. Lisa Su, Head of Technology Mark Papermaster, Data Center and Embedded Solutions Business Unit Leader, Forrest Norrod, and Senior Vice President Dan McNamara.

The focus of this conference will be AMD’s third-generation EPYC series processors, which are high-performance processors launched by the company for server products.

The new 3rd Gen EPYC processor will be developed based on the AMD Zen 3 architecture, but the specific product parameters and performance data have not been leaked in advance.

It is worth noting that this time the company will also launch a new processor code-named Milan, this new processor is also for servers and data centers.

Judging from the current known news, it is very likely that the Milan processor is also based on the ZEN 3 architecture, and AMD began testing with partners as early as last year.

For example, the American National Energy Research Scientific Computing Center, California, is building a new type of supercomputer code-named “Mother of Pearl.”

This supercomputer is equipped with the Milan processor that AMD has not announced, but the specific difference of this processor needs to be explained by AMD.
