In the past period of time, if you have paid attention to AMD’s introduction to the new generation of the Ryzen 7000 series and AM5 platform, you may have noticed that there is often a person in charge of AMD named Robert Hallock. This is AMD’s technical marketing manager, who often answers players’ questions on social media and introduces AMD’s products, technologies, and policies.
On September 9, 2022, Robert Hallock
confirmed on LinkedIn that he will leave AMD after 12 years of work. This day is Robert Hallock’s last day at AMD but did not disclose the specific reasons for leaving. He said:
“After just over 12 adventure-packed years at AMD, I’m leaving to explore new opportunities and experiences. Over the years, I’ve had the honor and privilege of publicly teaching others about some truly stellar innovation: the Zen core family, 3D V-Cache, chiplet packaging, HBM memory, FreeSync, low-overhead graphics APIs, and much more. After working in both graphics and processors for roughly 6 years each, I’ve learned so much.”
Robert Hallock thanked several of AMD’s former and current colleagues, the AMD community on Reddit and Discord, and other PC hardware communities. Robert Hallock said that he has no firm plans for the future at the moment, he will take time to travel first, and then consider what to do next.
AMD officials have not yet responded to the matter, nor have they announced a replacement for Robert Hallock.
