AMD showcases Radeon RX 7900 XTX performance
According to previous reports, AMD has confirmed that the Radeon RX 7900 XTX will compete with the GeForce RTX 4080. GeForce RTX 4080 will be officially released on November 16. One day before the release of 4080, AMD officially released a new slide to compare its new graphics card with competing products.
In the beginning, AMD briefly introduced the main parameters of its own graphics card and compared it with the GeForce RTX 4080. In terms of power consumption, RX 7900XT is slightly lower than RTX 4080, while RX 7900XTX is slightly higher than RTX 4080.
AMD said that even the RX 7900 XT, which is positioned at a lower level, has a memory capacity greater than the 16GB of GeForce RTX 4080, reaching 20GB, not to mention the 24G memory of the RX 7900 XTX. In terms of supported DP interface versions, AMD has also followed up on the latest DP2.1 protocol, which is higher than GeForce RTX 4080’s DP1.4.
The following shows the RX 7900 XTX PCB, interface information, and comparison with the RTX 4080 size and power supply interface. As can be seen from the figure, whether it is the previous generation flagship RX 6950 XT or the latest RX 7900 XTX, the dimensions of the graphics card are all smaller than RTX 4080. Compared with the 304mm length of the RTX 4080, the length of the RX 7900 XTX is 287mm; the RX 7900 XTX is 2.5 slot thickness, and the GeForce RTX 4080 is 3 slot thickness. At the same time, the two RX 7900 series graphics cards use a dual 8pin power supply, while the RTX 4080 uses a single 16Pin 12VHPER interface.
Finally, AMD showed performance. However, the Geforce RTX 4080 was not used as a comparison object, only the comparison between the two new RX 7900 series graphics cards and the previous generation flagship RX 6950 XT. It can be seen that in several games displayed by AMD, the RX 7900 XTX has a maximum increase of 67% compared with the RX 6950 XT, and the minimum increase is 51%. AMD is also showing that at 4K resolution and ray tracing is turned on, FSR can bring up to an 82% increase in frame rate.
The two RX 7900 series graphics cards will be officially released on December 13.
