AMD Ryzen Threadripper 5000 series may be released in November
A few days ago, there was news that AMD will launch a new generation of Ryzen Threadripper 5000 series processors code-named “Chagall” in August. It is expected to be launched in September to replace the Ryzen Threadripper 3000 series processors and further consolidate AMD’s advantage on the HEDT platform.
According to VideoCardz reports, the new generation of Ryzen Threadripper series processors will also be divided into two parts, namely the Ryzen Threadripper 5000 series and the Ryzen Threadripper Pro 5000 series. Like the previous generation product, the Ryzen Threadripper 5000 is four-channel DDR-3200 memory/64 PCI-E 4.0 channels, while the Ryzen Threadripper Pro 5000 is eight-channel DDR-3200 memory/128 PCI-E 4.0 channels. In addition, the top series of Ryzen Threadripper 5990X and Ryzen Threadripper Pro 5995WX will have 64 cores and 128 threads, but the release time is different from previous reports.
New rumors indicate that the release time of the new product has changed again. The Ryzen Threadripper 5000 series code-named “Chagall” will be released in November 2021, and the Ryzen Threadripper Pro 5000 series code-named “Chagall Pro” will be released in January 2022.
In addition, there is also a processor code-named “Chagall X3D”, which means a product using 3D V-Cache, but the news has not been confirmed. AMD has confirmed earlier that later this year, Zen 3 architecture Ryzen series processors equipped with 3D vertical caches will be put into production. It may be the Ryzen 5000XT series processors, but the Ryzen Threadripper series processors using the same technology may not appear until the second half of 2022.
