AMD Ryzen mobile processors will enable new orange stickers
AMD unveiled a new processor nomenclature last year to accommodate the 2023 Ryzen mobile processors. AMD asserts that the novel naming system is more technical and informative, enabling consumers to discern pertinent product details at a glance, including the year, architecture, positioning, and performance. However, the practical outcome has been less than ideal, with few users able to recite the specific information upon seeing the model number.
According to VideoCardz, AMD’s latest presentation showcases its newest stickers, featuring an orange background accompanied by a silver-gray frame and white typography. These stickers will be employed for this year’s cutting-edge Ryzen mobile processors based on the Zen 4 architecture, including the Ryzen 7045 series, codenamed “Dragon Range,” and the Ryzen 7040 series, codenamed “Phoenix Point.” The purpose of the new stickers is self-evident: allowing customers in brick-and-mortar stores to swiftly differentiate between the latest Zen 4 architecture and older products, providing a prompt answer.
As for previous Ryzen mobile processors based on the Zen 2, Zen 3, and Zen 3+ architectures—namely, the Ryzen 7035, 7030, and 7020 series—they will continue to utilize the older stickers, characterized by a gray background, silver-gray frame, white typography, and a central Ryzen emblem.
