AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D has been shipped and may be available by the end of March
With the recent BIOS update by motherboard manufacturers, many AM4 motherboards have supported Ryzen 7 5800X3D, but they are still missing. Recently, Twitter user @greymon55 revealed that the Ryzen 7 5800X3D has begun to ship, and the first retail version may be available at the end of March. Recently, Intel has gradually rolled out the 12th generation Core series processors, which has recovered a lot of client markets, the Ryzen 7 5800X3D is AMD’s few countermeasures in the first half of 2022.
At the just-concluded ISSCC 2022, AMD also shared more details on the 3D V-Cache design. The demonstration document shows that the SRAM of 3D V-Cache is manufactured by TSMC N7 process, and the overall size is 41 square millimeters, supported by two additional CCD structures to assist the heat dissipation. To allow each core of the processor to communicate with the 3D V-Cache, AMD implemented a shared ring bus design at the L3 level, with the entire L3 cache available to each core. Although not integrated on CCX, it is likely to be in line with the speed of the native L3 cache.
