AMD Ryzen 5 7500F only sold in China
Earlier reports have forecasted the imminent arrival of AMD’s Ryzen 5 7500F processor. This hexacore product, exhibiting 12 threads, houses Zen 4 architecture-based cores. Its ‘F’ suffix aligns with Intel’s nomenclature, signifying a lack of integrated graphics.
According to TomsHardware, the AMD Ryzen 5 7500F is slated for a release by the end of this month, exclusively in the Chinese market, at least initially.
AMD will first deliver the chips to Chinese retailers and e-tailers. The processor will also be introduced to system integrators, with systems built around this chip subsequently entering the market. The Ryzen 5 7500F employs the standard AM5 socket, hence it will not be entirely customized like the AMD 4700S Desktop Kit, which was exclusively sold in China. Both Intel and AMD have previously launched region-specific processors, such as AMD’s recent US-exclusive Ryzen 5 5600X3D.
The Ryzen 5 7500F’s specifications are closely aligned with the Ryzen 5 7600, both boasting a 65W TDP. However, its frequencies are slightly lower, with a base frequency of 3.7 GHz and a boost frequency of 5.0 GHz. It is equipped with a 6MB L2 cache and a 32MB L3 cache. Speculation suggests the Ryzen 5 7500F utilizes a defective IOD to avoid impacting high-end profits, thus such IODs are unlikely to feature in the Ryzen 7/9 7000 series products. In other words, there won’t be ‘F’ suffixed products.
It remains a possibility that AMD will eventually extend the Ryzen 5 7500F’s availability beyond China, echoing the scenario with the Ryzen 5 3500X which initially launched exclusively in China, only to be released in the United States about seven months later. Enthusiasts can likely anticipate seeing the performance reviews of this processor shortly.
