AMD partners may demonstrate the Radeon RX 7600 series at Computex
Previously, reports suggested that NVIDIA would soon introduce its fifth desktop GPU based on the Ada Lovelace architecture, with rumors of a GeForce RTX 4060 Ti release by the end of May coinciding with Computex 2023 and priced around $450. Although the competition has been expanding its next-generation graphics card lineup, AMD has remained silent since releasing its Navi 31-based Radeon RX 7900 series last year.
According to Igor’sLAB, AMD’s partners are preparing mid-range graphics cards based on the RDNA 3 architecture, set to debut in the coming weeks. It is understood that some board manufacturers plan to showcase the AMD Radeon RX 7600 series at Computex 2023, featuring the Navi 33, implying that the new graphics cards may launch within the next two months. AMD has traditionally favored Computex for product launches, so this news is not surprising.
It is reported that there are three RDNA 3 architecture-based chips, including the Navi 31 and Navi 32, which both utilize MCM packaging, and the single-chip design Navi 33, manufactured using TSMC’s 6nm process. At CES 2023 earlier this year, AMD introduced the Radeon RX 7600M series for mobile platforms, equipped with the Navi 33. Prior information indicated that the Radeon RX 7600 series on the desktop platform would be divided into Radeon RX 7600 XT and Radeon RX 7600, appearing earlier than Navi 32-based products.
The AMD Radeon RX 7600 XT features 32 CUs, 2,048 stream processors, 32MB of Infinity Cache, 8GB of GDDR6 VRAM, a 128-bit memory bus, a memory speed of 18Gbps, gaming and boost frequencies around 2.5GHz and 2.8GHz, respectively, an FP32 compute performance of 23 TFLOPs and a total card power consumption of 180W. The Radeon RX 7600, on the other hand, has 28 CUs, 1,792 stream processors, 32MB of Infinity Cache, 8GB of GDDR6 VRAM, a 128-bit memory bus, a memory speed of 16Gbps, gaming and boost frequencies around 2.3GHz and 2.6GHz, respectively, an FP32 compute performance of 18.6 TFLOPs and a total card power consumption of 140W.
Due to shifts in market dynamics and target demographics, AMD appears to have altered its strategy, with no news on products like the Radeon RX 7700XT thus far.
