Adobe is licensed by the US government to continue to provide services in Venezuela
According to a new announcement posted on the Adobe website, the company has obtained permission from the US government to continue to provide Creative Cloud services and Document Cloud portfolio to Venezuelan customers. The company had previously announced that it would be forced to deactivate accounts for all Venezuelan users because President Donald Trump banned its executive order to conduct business in Venezuela.
Earlier this month, Adobe announced that it would be forced to suspend all user accounts of Venezuelan customers on October 28 to comply with the US government’s Executive Order 13884. Adobe said at the time that users would not even receive a refund because it would also violate US law. But Adobe has received a special exemption today.
“After discussions with the U.S. government, we’ve been granted a license to provide all of our Digital Media products and services in Venezuela,” wrote Chris Hall, Vice President and General Manager for Customer Experience, in a blog post. “Users can continue to access the Creative Cloud and Document Cloud portfolio, and all of their content, as they did before.”
