Activision Blizzard confirms that Diablo IV and Overwatch 2 will be postponed

This year, the gaming giant Activision Blizzard has encountered a series of problems. The situation is not very good. After months of tossing, it seems that it has also affected the development of its games. In the recent 2021 third-quarter earnings conference call, Activision Blizzard confirmed that some games will be postponed again.

According to The Verge, Activision Blizzard announced that “Diablo IV” and “Overwatch 2” will be postponed. The launch time will be later than originally planned to provide sufficient development time, and it is expected that next year’s revenue will be affected. “As we have worked with new leadership in Blizzard and within the franchises themselves, particularly in certain key creative roles, it has become apparent that some of the Blizzard content planned for next year will benefit from more development time to reach its full potential,” a Blizzard executive said during the call.

Although Activision Blizzard did not mention the specific release dates of Diablo IV and Overwatch 2, it has always hinted that they will be released in 2022. It seems that it may be far away, at least until 2023. Activision Blizzard plans to update a lot of game content next year, but it has nothing to do with the release of Diablo IV and Overwatch 2.
