Acer is working on Nvidia and AMD flagship graphics cards at the same time

Months ago, rumors abounded that Acer, in the year 2023, intended to inaugurate an entirely novel DIY product line, launching products that it had never previously ventured to produce. Many speculated that Acer sought to foray into the graphics card market to broaden its retail product range. Last year, Acer introduced the stunningly designed Predator series Arc A770 graphics card. Subsequent reports indicated that custom Radeon RX 7900 series graphics cards would follow, not ruling out NVIDIA GPUs, thus potentially spanning the three major GPU manufacturers.

As reported by Gamer Nexus, during a recent visit to Acer’s headquarters design center, they learned about some of the forthcoming designs from this PC manufacturer. Acer is currently immersed in the development of NVIDIA and AMD flagship graphics cards, further expanding their burgeoning business venture.

The Predator series NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card, revealed this time, has a three-slot thickness, featuring a simple design with distinct edges, giving it a staunch and square appearance. The standout feature of this graphics card is the integration of a complete water-cooling system beneath two 100mm axial fans, boasting a 22mm thick heat sink. The copper base covers the GPU, memory, and power supply module, unlike the commonly seen counterparts in the market that externalize the heat sink and connect via coolant pipes.

This graphics card’s water-cooling system incorporates a dual-pump system, located at the end of the card. Given that the graphics card employs a full three-slot bracket, the top of the entire cooling module offers unimpeded ventilation. As with comparable products, this graphics card is equipped with a 12VHPWR power supply interface.

Acer is indeed developing AMD’s flagship graphics card, having started earlier than the NVIDIA model, although not much information has been disclosed. Acer’s Radeon graphics card features a three-fan cooling system and dual 8Pin external power supply. The overall dimensions are nearly identical to those of NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card.

It is understood that NVIDIA has not yet enlisted Acer as a partner, hence the relatively limited selection of AMD products should present more opportunities. Apart from interim models, Acer will also introduce new Radeon RX 7600 graphics cards.
