A user added successfully Type-C interface to iPhone X

iPhone series have used the Lightning interface for many years. Although Apple has switched to USB Type-C ports for some of its iPads, it is clear that Apple has no plans for the iPhone. However, this has aroused the desire of many users to modify the iPhone Type-C interface. Recently, an iPhone X with a modified Type-C interface was sold at a high price of $86,001.

This iPhone X with a Type-C interface was remodeled by engineering student Ken Pillonel. It was completed last month, and it attracted a lot of people to watch as soon as it was announced. Earlier this month, Ken Pillonel also released a video explaining how he modified it. In addition to reverse-engineering Apple’s C94 connector, he also built a circuit board himself, then conducted a lot of tests on the connection and wiring, and finally, the Type-C interface must be inserted into the iPhone X, which has no place.

Earlier this modified iPhone X was put up for auction on eBay, and it was quickly auctioned for more than $85,000. In the end, after 116 auctions, this iPhone X with Type-C interface was sold at a high price of US$86,001.

Ken Pillonel guarantees that this iPhone X can be used normally, but at the same time reminds not to restore, update or restore the factory settings of this iPhone. In addition, he also said that buyers had better not use this modified iPhone X as the main machine.

Ken Pillonel has put all the process steps and tutorials of this modification on GitHub, so if you have a strong hands-on ability, you can also follow his tutorial to do it, but it is not guaranteed to be successful.
