A 14-core 20-thread Core i7-12650HX processor appears
It was said a few days ago that Intel is preparing the Alder Lake-HX series processors, and now I found a record in the UserBenchmark database, a processor called Core i7-12650HX appeared. Although the data detected by the software is incomplete, some specifications of this processor can still be known from it.
The software recognizes that the Core i7-12650HX processor has 14 cores and 20 threads. The Core i7-12650H has also 14 cores and 20 threads. It consists of 6 P-Cores and 8 E-Cores. However, the Alder Lake-HX series uses the core of the desktop Alder Lake-S, therefore, the Core i7-12650HX is more likely to have 8 P-Cores and 4 E-Cores, which means that it is similar to the Core i7-12700.
The base clock of the Core i7-12650HX is 2.3GHz, and the boost clock is 4.05GHz, but the software should mix the clock of P-Core and E-Core together, so the average frequency is meaningless.
The GPU must be at the level of UHD 770. The other configuration of this testbed is a Samsung 970 EVO Plus SSD, and 32GB+8GB of DDR5-4800 memory, which is a rather odd combination.
The basic power consumption of Alder Lake-HX is 55W, and the maximum power consumption can reach 115W. It is expected that the maximum power consumption of Alder Lake-HX will definitely be higher than 115W, possibly to 150W, therefore, the laptop to use it must be equipped with a very efficient radiator. Alder Lake-HX will have at least one Core i9 and one Core i7 model, but the appearance of the Core i7-12650HX indicates that there will be at least two Core i7 models, and there should be a Core i7-12700HX product.
