2020 Q3 notebook shipments increased by 43% year-on-year
Data research organization Canalys released the third quarter of 2020 notebook computer shipment data. Due to the increase in remote office demand, 2020Q3 shipments increased by 34% year-on-year. Hewlett-Packard surpassed Lenovo to rank first, while Apple still ranked fourth.
HP surpassed Lenovo for the first time in recent years, with shipments of 14.7 million units, a year-on-year increase of 43%. Lenovo shipped 14.6 million units, an increase of 25% year-on-year, ranking second. Dell ranked third with 8.5 million units shipped. Apple shipped 6 million units, still ranking fourth.
Apple is a company that is more affected by supply shortages. Apple CEO Cook told investors that the company is “very, very hard” to solve ongoing supply problems. According to reports, in the fourth quarter, the supplier’s ability to meet growing demand will be a key factor in the growth rate.
