YouTube is testing a gaming service called Playables
Reports have emerged suggesting that YouTube has invited its internal team to test a novel service, christened ‘Playables’, enabling users to directly engage in gaming through the YouTube platform.
The Wall Street Journal reports that this amenity will allow users to access gaming content via mobile devices or desktop equipment. At present, it offers an array of games for testing, including an ad-supported game titled ‘Stack Bounce’, among others.
In a similar vein, Netflix had previously launched its own gaming service, intending to enhance user engagement through gaming content. Concurrently, it aspires to sustain the enthusiasm of its users following their favorite series and potentially use games to augment storyline development.
However, it remains uncertain when this YouTube service will officially roll out. Additionally, the intended demographic and development goals for this project are yet to be confirmed.
