Microsoft recently finally provides Xbox Cloud Gaming services for the next-generation Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One series consoles. This service allows players to play various games in the cloud game library without downloading the game itself. After opening this service to the host, players who do not own a specific game can play the same game with their friends.
At present, the Xbox Cloud Gaming game service does not have any barriers. It only requires players to have an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription and live in specific 25 regions. According to Microsoft, “This capability will initially roll out with our November release to a subset of Xbox gamers and scale to all gamers in supported markets over the coming weeks.”
For Xbox Series X/S players, this service may not be very attractive at present, because they can already run basically all supported games on next-generation consoles. But for Xbox One series console players, don’t need to buy next-generation consoles, they can use Xbox Cloud Gaming to play games that can only run on next-generation consoles on Xbox One consoles, play with their next-generation console friends. However, currently, Xbox Cloud Gaming does not include all next-generation games. For example, the Flight Simulator game will not be available on Xbox Cloud Gaming until early 2022.
Microsoft’s move can be said to re-emphasize the goal of allowing users to experience various services through the cloud without restriction.
