Windows Terminal stable version will be released in around February/March
Microsoft plans to officially launch the Windows Terminal application in the first half of next year (around February / March). This new application is currently available in the Microsoft Store in preview form and integrates Command Prompt, PowerShell, Windows Subsystem for Linux and Security Shell in a unified command-line interface.
Microsoft has been working hard to develop a preview version of Windows Terminal. The company has added accessibility support, dynamic configuration files, fixed many bugs, and introduced multi-panel and tab interfaces. This tool manages all command lines in a unified interface, enabling developers to better organize their work to increase efficiency.
Microsoft published to open source the application’s code on GitHub and extensively solicit user feedback and suggestions before fully releasing the feature next year. The company will continue to release preview versions each month for personal testing and feedback to continue polishing and performance improvements before releasing version 1.0.
