Windows Server Insider Preview Build 18945 Releases: support for FIDO2 security keys
In addition to the release of the new beta version of the Windows 10 20H1 channel, Microsoft introduced a new build to the Windows Server Insider, Windows Server Insider Preview Build 18945. Under normal circumstances, Windows Server Insider corresponds to the Windows 10 SDK, but this version does not seem to bring a lot of new features.
In the Microsoft blog post, the company said that the new features are mainly Windows Server Insider support for FIDO2 certification in a hybrid environment. Last month Microsoft announced that it supports this authentication method in the Microsoft Azure cloud environment, and now Windows Server is also expanding synchronously.
Simply put, if the enterprise users think that the device has high-security requirements, you can configure the physical key login for the security key that supports the FIDO2 standard. This kind of security key is used as verification. Even if the remote attacker leaks the password, it cannot be operated. Therefore, it is still very good for preventing remote attacks.
