Windows KB5004760 to solve various anomalies in loading PDF documents
Recently, some Windows 10 users may encounter some errors when loading PDF documents. These errors are not user problems but unknown failures in the system.
Including when loading through IE browser or browsing controls, there will be exceptions, and PDF may appear gray when using the Adobe Acrobat plug-in.
Microsoft’s investigation found that this problem was caused by some Windows 10 updates. Currently, the company has released KB5004760 out-of-band update to solve this error. Microsoft writes:
Updates an issue that might prevent you from opening PDFs using Internet Explorer 11 or apps that use the 64-bit version of the WebBrowser control. Additionally, a PDF might render as just a gray background when using the Adobe Acrobat plug-in.
This update also supports Windows 10 v2004 version (20H1), 20H2 version, 21H1 version, and the supported architectures include x86, x64, and ARM64.
However, the offline package files corresponding to different versions and different architectures are different. Please read the version and architecture information when downloading and download the files suitable for your system.
