Windows 10 Insider are testing the OneDrive Files On-Demand feature

Microsoft announced the launch of the OneDrive Files On-Demand feature last month, and now Windows 10 testers can try this feature today. Fast Ring Windows 10 Inspectors can now download and install Windows 10 Build 16215 , Test OneDrive this new feature, in order to achieve the new “file on demand” function . The new feature allows users to download files from OneDrive if needed, rather than synchronizing the entire folder to the device and wasting space.

This work has a better status symbol in File Explorer, which shows which files and folders are synchronized for offline use. The green check mark indicates that the item has been synchronized to the device. The green fixed flag shows that the user manually synchronizes the offline file, and the blank cloud icon shows that the file is in the cloud and not on the device. All applications in Windows 10 are able to access synchronized OneDrive files in this way because desktop clients store them directly in the OneDrive folder.

Microsoft plans to release its Windows 10 fall creator later this year and officially launched the OneDrive Files On-Demand feature.
