Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 18865 includes Chromium-based Edge browser
An unofficial version of the Chromium-based Edge browser is available for download. A report from the German website Deskmodder shows that Microsoft has quietly included the Chromium version of Microsoft Edge in the latest preview version of the Windows 10 for Skip Ahead internal staff version. The specific version number Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 18865.
According to the quoted source, not all users have access to Chromium-based Microsoft Edge, because Microsoft has only conducted very limited experiments. This means that not everyone can get it in the first place until Microsoft provides it to everyone in the Insider program.
The new Edge is only available in the Windows Sandbox and can be called from:
C:\Users\WDAGUtilityAccount\AppData\Local\MicrosoftEdge
In the current beta version of Windows 10, Chromium-based Microsoft Edge does not replace the existing version of the browser or even create shortcuts, so you must dig into the operating system to find it.
