Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 18262 releases

Although Windows 10 version 1809 has been withdrawn and there are still numerous problems, it does not seem to affect Microsoft’s development team.
Currently, Microsoft has released the Windows 10 Preview 19H1 Build 18262 to the Fast ring and those who have opted in to Skip Ahead.

This update is also continuing to improve the display of Windows 10 on the high score screen. The new feature added is called DPI awareness.

What is DPI awareness:

Strictly speaking, DPI awareness is not user-oriented but provides a new standard for desktop developers to adapt to Windows 10 high score screens.

By default, the system automatically scales or stretches the desktop program on the high score screen, but sometimes the zoom and stretch effects may not be as sound as expected.

The zoom level of all desktop programs can be seen in the new version of Task Manager, making it easy for developers or even users to adjust desktop program scaling manually.

The new version supports uninstalling more pre-installed apps:

In the new version, Microsoft added the uninstall option to more pre-installed apps. If the user doesn’t need it, you can right-click on the uninstall button in the menu to uninstall it.

The new version supports uninstalling: 3D viewer, calculator, calendar, music, right click, movie and TV, 3D drawing, notes, recorder, and more.

In the Windows 10 October 2018 Update and prior, only the following inbox apps could be uninstalled via the context menu on the Start menu All Apps list:

  • Microsoft Solitaire Collection
  • My Office
  • OneNote
  • Print 3D
  • Skype
  • Tips
  • Weather

This update adds to the uninstallation of more applications based on the old version, so now supports the uninstallation of all the applications listed below.

Improve troubleshooting features:

For the various messy crashes of Windows 10, Microsoft has improved the elements in the troubleshooting of the settings to provide customised solutions.

This feature automatically sends diagnostic data to the cloud and analyses the best practices. After returning to the solution, the user can click on the application to solve the problem in a targeted manner.

However, this function is still under development and therefore cannot be used.

The following is a regular fix for this update:

  • We fixed an issue resulting in App History being blank in Task Manager in the last flight.
  • We fixed an issue from the previous flight resulting in Task Manager’s icon in the notification area of the taskbar not staying visible while Task Manager was open.
  • We fixed an issue resulting in the upgrade to the previous flight potentially failing with error 0xC1900101. This same issue could have resulted in Office products not launching, services not starting, and/or your credentials not being accepted on the login screen after first upgrading until rebooting.
  • We fixed an issue where Settings would crash in the last few flights if in Ease of Access you clicked “Apply” on Make Text Bigger.
  • We fixed an issue where Settings in the last few flights might crash in the last few flights when clicking Check for updates or applying an updated Active Hours range.
  • We fixed an issue where Notepad wasn’t listed on the Set Defaults by App page in Settings.
