Ubuntu 19.04 (Disco Dingo) has entered feature freeze phases
Under the efforts of Canonical, Ubuntu 19.04 (Disco Dingo) has recently entered a new important development phase – Feature Freeze. Ubuntu 19.04 has officially entered the feature freeze phase on February 21, 2019, meaning that no new features will be introduced until the official release on April 18. The new version will ship with the GNOME 3.32 desktop environment and the Linux Kernel 4.20 kernel.
Therefore, Canonical has urged all Ubuntu developers and package maintainers to focus on fixing various bugs. In the mailing list posted on Thursday, Adam Conrad said,
As per the release schedule, Disco Dingo is now in Feature Freeze. Ideally, you will all now be focusing on bug fixing and not on getting new features into the release. […] Remember that version strings don’t matter for Feature Freeze. If you upload a new upstream release and it has no new features than you don’t need an exception.
