Ubisoft will cancel its participation in this year’s E3 2023
Although Ubisoft previously disclosed its intention to participate in E3 2023 if the event successfully resumes in a physical format this year, recent announcements from Nintendo and Microsoft, stating their non-attendance, along with Sony’s apparent lack of desire to participate, have led Ubisoft to change its stance, declaring it will not attend E3 2023.
Ubisoft has not specified whether its withdrawal from E3 2023 is related to other industry players’ reluctance to exhibit, but it has revealed plans to host the Ubisoft Forward Live event on June 12th, Pacific Time, during which numerous new game titles will be announced.
At present, both Nintendo and Microsoft have indicated they will not attend this year’s E3 2023. Instead, they will communicate with players through their own events and announce new game releases at a faster pace.
As it stands, the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) is collaborating with ReedPop, the organizer of the PAX gaming convention, to plan for next year’s E3 event. The ESA aims to extend the duration of the event to four days, with general admission open to the public for the final two days. However, certain exhibition areas will remain exclusively accessible to gaming industry professionals, media, and analysts.
