Set the time.
The first step in Maths is the time taken to work out the problems. You have to analyze how much time you are taking to work out. The speed and the accuracy hold an important aspect in the subject preparation. Let us take an example that you are given 100 questions and the time is 100 minutes then you have just 1 minute to answer each question. So you have to practice at this level of speed. This is not something difficult but practice.
Once you get thorough practice then it is very easy to solve and maintain the time. It is very simple when you know the time consumed is very little.
When you set the time and the topics prioritize the topics and are sure that it is followed accordingly.
Make a timetable.
Make a daily routine for maths. Practice as much as possible so you are thorough with all the variety of problems.
Know the strengths and the weaknesses.
Know the strengths and the weaknesses in each chapter. Devote time accordingly.
Formulas
Learn the formulas properly. You can write all the formulas and stick them on the wall where it is clearly visible. This will help in quick learning.
Tips during the exam.
During the exam, the concentration, and energy to focus on difficult problems decline. The thinking will be about the exam pattern.
When you get the question paper to formulate a method to answer the question precisely
Think and write. Be neat and follow the steps while solving the problem.
Take a minute to think about the right approach to solve a question before you start writing.
Diagram.
Show the illustration wherever is required. Even if the question does not demand you have to support it. This will have a good impact on the examiner.
You might feel it’s irrelevant, but it’s always a good concept to build your solution from the ground up. Draw a diagram to show the given data and also show what has to be solved. Then support with the proper diagram. This way your chances of going wrong is very less. This not only helps you structure your answer but helps the marker see your train of thought.
Don’t skip any steps. Whenever you are solving, show all the steps appropriately.
Sometimes you might not know a problem or you are not confident. In such cases just don’t skip but attempt and try. Even a few steps you are doing correctly will fetch you some marks. Don’t take any hasty steps. Attempt all the questions. Sometimes we might think you do not know but when you start working you will get it. Don’t give up without trying.
The workings of each problem have to be shown properly. Make sure you are doing it in a clumsy way. Even your work should be clean and tidy. A neat answer sheet is always impressive.
Often the mistake that usually students make and lose marks is not giving the answer in the asked form. Usually, a question will define the decimal places which should be in the final answer. When there is such specification done you have to be accurate while keeping the answer. The simplest method for such questions can be solved by marking them or highlighting the same.
The same applies when the specific units are asked in the question. These simple and silly mistakes should be avoided. This will be like unnecessarily losing the marks.
This can be avoided during the exam by noticing the question and putting a remark or any kind of indication which can be visible for you so you avoid these minute mistakes. Remember that each mar is very valuable and losing them simply is not at all advisable.
Don’t be in a hurry to finish and go out of the examination hall. Review the answer sheet correctly. If you have left with more time then you must revise the calculation also. Students often make these common mistakes in addition and subtraction. Going over each sum again will help you to rectify the small errors and it will avoid you from losing the marks unnecessarily.
Once you are out of the examination hall it will be better if you don’t discuss anything with your friends. What happens is that in case you happen to know that you have made a mistake, but unfortunately you cannot change it right? You will unnecessarily get demotivated and start thinking about the same mistake. So it is better whatever is done let us hope for the best and be cheerful and positive.
