TIOBE Index for April 2019: C++ returns to the top three
TIOBE released the April programming language rankings, and the overall rankings have changed little. The top ten programming language are Java, C, C++, Python, Visual Basic .NET, C#, JavaScript, SQL, PHP, and assembly language. However, compared with the previous ranking, there are still some highlights worthy of attention:
- C++ goes beyond Python and gets back to the third place
- PHP dropped from eighth place last month to now ninth place
- Objective-C falls out of the top ten
Of course, Python fell out of the top three. This is certainly not because Python is in decline. In fact, Python is hitting a record high every month and continues to grow. It’s just that C++ is getting more and more popular, and with good results before, it has surpassed Python this month. Coupled with the release of C++20, the discussion has become higher than before.
