The live tile feature is expected to disappear from the Windows 10 Start Menu in 2020/2021
The dynamic tile function is a new feature added by Microsoft in Windows 8. Of course, if you look back, it was actually used in Windows Phone 7.
This feature has also been extended to Windows 10 and has been in use for many years, but after many years, the dynamic tile function may have to say goodbye to us completely.
At present, Microsoft has started to push the newly designed application icons to Insider users. It is expected that the new icons will reach all users in 2020/2021.
According to Microsoft’s current actions, the next major version of Windows 10 is expected to use new icons, but this may need to wait until the new version next spring.
Because Windows 10 Version 2009 is rumored to be a minor version, key features will be implemented in Windows 10 Version 2103.
In this version, Microsoft will use the new application icon to completely replace the original icon with a solid background, and the dynamic tile function will disappear with it.
Under normal circumstances, if the user usage of a certain feature is too low, Microsoft will cut it off, and the dynamic tile is actually a feature with very low user usage.
The main reason is that dynamic tiles are mainly suitable for built-in applications developed by Microsoft and applications developed by third-party developers based on the UWP universal platform. As we all know, the development of UWP applications is relatively poor.
