Synology releases DiskStation DS923+: Equipped with Ryzen R1600
Synology recently released the DiskStation DS923+, which is mainly aimed at small businesses and home offices.
The size of DiskStation DS923+ is 166x199x223mm and supports four mechanical hard disk bays, dual M.2 2280 hard disk bays, and dual system fans. DiskStation DS923+ is equipped with AMD Ryzen R1600 processor, which is an embedded design, the first generation “Zen” architecture, TDP12-25W, dual-core four-thread, base clock 2.6GHz, boost clock 3.1GHz, L2 cache 1MB, L3 cache 4MB, supports dual-channel DDR4 2400MHz ECC memory.
DiskStation DS923+ has two DDR4 memory slots, each of which is pre-installed with 4GB, and supports a maximum of 32GB of memory. In terms of interfaces, DiskStation DS923+ has two Gigabit Ethernet ports, two USB3.2 Gen1 Type-A ports, one eSATA port, and an internal PCI-E 3.0×2 network card upgrade slot.
In terms of functions, DiskStation DS923+ supports hot-swappable mechanical hard drives; supports EEC memory, which can automatically correct data protection data; support advanced snapshot function, easy to restore files; built-in comprehensive backup solution, supporting data backup to multiple locations; supports image monitoring, compatible with more than 8300 cameras, and can support 40 channels of monitoring signals. It can also be used as a virtual machine storage device, supporting software virtual machines such as VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V, and Citrix XenServer.
Compared to DiskStation DS920+, DiskStation DS923+ has been fully upgraded. The processor is upgraded from Intel Celeron J4125 to Ryzen R1600, the number of memory slots is upgraded from one to two, and a PCI-E slot is added.
Synology DiskStation DS923+ supports 54TB storage capacity and supports a maximum of 126TB through the official expansion device DX517. In the official performance test, the sequential read rate of DiskStation DS923 can reach up to 625MB/s, and the sequential write rate can reach up to 599MB/s. The product focuses on a private cloud, multiple backups, and intelligent monitoring functions, which can bring a seamless and reliable user experience.
