Sony released the ToF AR open source toolkit for efficient AR app development
In order to help promote the development of augmented reality technology with more applications of its ToF sensing elements, Sony recently provided developers with an open-source toolkit called ToF AR, which allows developers to easily create augmented reality application content that can accurately recognize the subtle movements of hands and fingers.
Sony stated that ToF AR used by its ToF sensing components will be compatible with the Unity game engine, as well as Google ARCore, and Apple ARKit, therefore, it can be combined with more game content, and can also be applied to various software services.
The functional part not only recognizes the subtle movements of hands and fingers, but also recognizes body movements smoothly, and corresponds to the 3D modeling linkage, and according to the depth of field distance and other information, the augmented reality content can be seamlessly fitted with the shooting background, thereby creating a more realistic virtual-real integration effect.
