Samsung’s patent hints a folding phone with the three-screen design
Recently, the mobile phone circle is very active, especially on the topic of folding screens. Many manufacturers have new products coming out or warming up new products, such as Huawei’s P50 Pocket, OPPO’s Find N, and the unreleased Honor Magic V. But in the field of folding screens, Samsung has the most say. Recently, there have been media reports that Samsung has a patent for a stronger folding screen. This time it directly uses a double hinge, which is a three-fold design.
The media said that Samsung has submitted a patent application to the World Intellectual Property Organization. The content of the patent shows that Samsung is trying to design a folding screen mobile phone with double hinges, that is, a screen can be folded in two places to form three independent displays, and the probability of the final design being formed is quite high.
According to media reports, Samsung applied for this patent to the World Intellectual Property Organization in June this year and was announced recently. Specifically, this Samsung folding screen mobile phone uses a “Z”-shaped bi-fold design. Therefore, when fully deployed, its size is equivalent to that of a tablet, providing a better gaming and audio-visual experience for efficient work. After folding, the phone will be thicker due to the three-screen design.
It is worth mentioning that this Samsung folding screen also uses under-screen fingerprint unlocking technology, which is very special because there is no folding screen mobile phone with an under-screen fingerprint sensor in the market, and Samsung has achieved another breakthrough in this area. In other respects, this Samsung folding screen will also be equipped with an S Pen pen, and a rich interface configuration, in addition to the USB-C interface, there are HDMI interfaces, SD card slots, etc. However, this product currently only exists in the patent drawings, and whether it will be developed for mass production has to wait time.
