Samsung releases new G4 and G7 monitors
Samsung recently released three new G-series monitors at Computex 2022, the 25-inch and 27-inch G4 monitors, and a simplified 165Hz G7 monitor based on the Odyssey Neo G8.
The paper parameters and specifications of the two newly launched G4 monitors can be said to be exactly the same, the only difference is the size of 25 inches and 27 inches. Both also have a 1080P@240Hz IPS screen and claim a 1ms response time. In addition, the typical brightness values of the two G4 monitors are marked as 400 nits, the color depth is 8-bit, and the color gamut coverage is 99% sRGB. In terms of interfaces, they all have 2 HDMI 2.0, 1 DP 1.2, and 1 3.5mm audio interface.
It can be seen that these two 25-inch and 27-inch G4s are relatively entry-level to mainstream 1080P monitors, and the sub-targets are also players who will play e-sports games at this resolution with a high refresh rate. For those players who have high-end PC configurations, the Neo G7 monitor launched this time will be a more suitable choice.
The Samsung Odyssey Neo G7 is the highest-end of the three monitors launched this time. The screen is a 32-inch VA panel with 1000R curvature, 4K resolution, and a 165Hz refresh rate. Not only that, but this display also uses Samsung’s own quantum dot Mini LED technology, with a total of 1196 backlight partitions, a peak brightness of 1000 nits, and a color gamut that can cover 95% of DCI-P3. As for the interface, the Odyssey Neo G7 comes with 2x HDMI 2.1, 2x DP 1.4, 2x USB 3.0 Type-A, and 1x 3.5mm audio interface.
4K resolution, high brush, plus MIni LED backlight and a large number of backlight partitions, this is basically the top configuration for playing games at present, but I don’t know how the backlight partition of this Odyssey Neo G7 will perform.
Both G4 monitors support AMD FreeSync Premium and G-Sync Compatible, while the Samsung Odyssey Neo G7 supports G-Sync Compatible and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro.
It is not yet known the price of these 3 monitors and when they will be released.
