Samsung introduces 870 QVO 8TB SSD with LPDDR4 memory
Samsung has already released the Samsung 870 QVO SSD. The main feature of the 870 QVO is that it has a very large capacity. Consumers can choose from the 1TB version, the 2TB version, the 4TB version, and the maximum optional 8TB version. This capacity is indeed relatively larger than that of most solid-state drives.
This series of solid-state drives use all V-NAND 4-bit QLC flash memory, and the price is almost the same as the current mainstream TLC solid-state drives.
Samsung said in the official press release that the 870 QVO series solid-state drives have good performance, and its maximum capacity of 8TB can fully meet user needs.
The read and write speed of the solid-state hard disk is faster than that of the traditional mechanical hard disk. Users who purchase Samsung solid-state hard disk can obtain the performance of the solid-state disk with the capacity of the mechanical disk.
The interface of this series of solid-state drives is SATA III version. The read speed is 560MB/s and the write speed is 530MB/s, which is much faster than traditional mechanical hard drives.
Samsung has not mentioned whether it will release the NVMe version. Normally, NVMe SSDs can reach 3GB/s faster than the SATA series interfaces.
The 1 TB model’s preorder price is $130. The 8 TB model’s preorder price is $900. The warranty is for 3 years.
