Samsung Galaxy S22 series will offer Exynos 2200 version only in Europe

Samsung will hold “Galaxy Unpacked 2022” on February 8, and release three models of Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus, and Galaxy S22 Ultra. Next, Samsung will start pre-orders on February 9, the first batch of products will be shipped from February 21, and the official sales will probably be on February 24. According to the original plan, the Galaxy S22 series will be divided into two platforms: Samsung Exynos 2200 and Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.

Many people will be curious as to where to buy a model with the Samsung Exynos 2200. It was previously reported that Samsung will use the Exynos 2200 platform in Europe and South America, and the Snapdragon platform in North America, China, Hong Kong, Southeast Asia, India, and South Korea. However, US operators Verizon and China Telecom both want to use the Exynos 2200. Verizon is under negotiation and China Telecom is negotiating to launch a custom Exynos 2200 model.

With the performance and capacity issues of the Exynos 2200, as well as changes in Samsung’s market strategy, the platform division of the Galaxy S22 series in specific regions may also change. Twitter user dohyun854 broke the news that Europe will only have models equipped with the Exynos 2200 platform; while North America, South America, East Asia, Southeast Asia, and Oceania will only have models equipped with the Snapdragon platform; in West Asia and Africa, Exynos 2200 and Snapdragon platform models coexist.

This time the news is relatively more specific, but it can also be seen that the Galaxy S22 series models equipped with Exynos 2200 seem to cover less area. Perhaps as rumored in the past few months, for various reasons, Samsung is likely to eventually increase the number of Galaxy S22 series models powered by the Snapdragon platform.
