Samsung Expert RAW app will support more models
Samsung launched the Expert RAW camera app for the Galaxy S21 Ultra on the Galaxy Store late last year, which can make full use of the phone’s main camera, on the basis of the built-in Pro mode of the Galaxy S21 Ultra, ultra-wide-angle, and telephoto cameras for exposure, focus, ISO, shutter speed and white balance control. It allows users to easily adjust highlights, shadows, saturation, and hue, and take more professional-quality photos with their mobile phones. In addition, it can do 16bit linear RAW files and lossless JPEG shooting.
At the time, however, the Samsung Expert RAW app was only available on Samsung’s high-end flagship Galaxy S21 Ultra. After the Galaxy S22 Ultra was just released in February this year, the models supported by the Expert RAW camera app were also limited to these two flagship devices. Now, Samsung is finally relaxing the restrictions. According to 9to5google reports, the camera app will start supporting more old Samsung models on February 25.
These models include the Samsung Galaxy S20 series, Galaxy S21 series, Galaxy S22 series, and Galaxy Note 20 series, while folding-screen phones will have Galaxy Z Fold3 5G. But this app will not be supported in Samsung mid-range phones such as the Galaxy A series.
However, this list is not the final list. Samsung will make an evaluation based on the listed models in the past two years and finally determine the final list. The list will be announced by February 25.
