Ryzen 9 7940H mini PC will be available soon

In the realm of mini PCs, apart from Intel’s NUC, several domestic manufacturers have produced commendable devices equipped with AMD Ryzen processors. With the launch of devices featuring the AMD Ryzen 7040 series processors, these manufacturers have commenced promoting their forthcoming products on social media.

For instance, MINISFORUM released a brief article, indicating that their Ryzen 9 7940HS device is nearing completion. However, due to the limited information provided by a screenshot of the task manager, it remains uncertain what type of memory will be configured for the device. The Ryzen 9 7940HS supports both DDR5-5600 and LPDDR5x-7500 specifications, and considering that their previous devices permitted memory replacement, the former is more likely.

Additionally, GMK shared a video, announcing that their Ryzen 9 7940H is also imminent. According to the video, the mini PC is expected to launch in May, boasting the global premiere of a device featuring the Ryzen 9 7940H. In terms of design, it bears no discernible differences from the current K1 and K2 models, at least visually.

As for the distinctions between the Ryzen 9 7940H and 7940HS versions? In truth, they can be regarded as identical processors. Both are based on TSMC’s 4nm process and the Zen 4 + RDNA 3 architecture, possessing the same 8-core, 16-thread specifications and a maximum boost frequency of 5.2GHz. They also incorporate the AMD Radeon 780M GPU, which features 12 Compute Units and a frequency of 2800MHz.

According to earlier leaks, the AMD Radeon 780M’s performance is quite impressive, rendering the gaming capabilities of this generation of mini PCs particularly noteworthy.
