Riot’s popular FPS game Valorant will be available on phones and mobile platforms
Roit, the developer of LOL, launched their second product last year, an FPS game called Valorant. Its quality has been affirmed by many players, and it can be regarded as a relatively popular e-sports game in markets. Now on the first anniversary, Roit slightly unexpectedly announced that Valorant will have a mobile game version. Roit’s parent company Tencent Games moved CorssFire to the mobile phone very early.
“We didn’t start out with ‘We’re making Valorant on mobile,’ we started out with ‘Can we make Valorant on mobile?’ with a lot of skepticism,” Valorant executive producer Anna Donlon said. “For us, whatever you get out of playing on PC, you should get out of playing Valorant on mobile. But we have to recognize that the mobile player need is different.”
However, due to the different operation methods of the game, the mobile game version of Valorant is naturally not just a direct transplant of the PC version. Roit also said that there will be a big difference in gameplay. The mobile game version will be specially optimized for mobile phones. At present, they have not announced the demo video, so the general gameplay is still unknown.
In addition, Roit also said that Valorant will be launched in the future, but they believe that the aiming operation of the handle is actually more difficult than the mobile game version, so they chose to give priority to the development of the mobile game version and combined with their mobile game version LOL has been launched on a global scale.
