Report: Over 50% Chrome extensions have fewer than 16 installs
Google Chrome is currently the world’s highest browser market share, with statistics showing that the browser has up to 1 billion monthly active users. Google Chrome is able to win a lot of users thanks to its extremely fast loading speed and rich features, especially supporting a wide range of extensions.
Statistics show that the Google Chrome extension store currently has a total of 188,620 extensions, but most of these extensions are not used. In fact, there are only 13 extensions with more than 10 million installations, and 87% of the extensions are installed less than a thousand times, and 50% of the extensions are installed less than 16 times. Extensions that have only been installed once have accounted for 13.5% of the total extension, while extensions that have never been downloaded and installed account for 10% of the total extension. Some critics believe that the Google Chrome extension store is actually a ghost town.
