Qualcomm will launch SC7395 processor
Although Microsoft and Qualcomm have a close cooperative relationship, so far Windows 10 ARM notebook computers have not produced much response in the industry.
One of the reasons may include the relatively weak performance of the desktop processor launched by Qualcomm, and the compatibility of Windows 10 ARM laptops is not very good.
At present, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processors for desktop platforms are mainly 8cx and 8cxGen2. The price is similar to Intel but the performance is not as good as Intel.
However, Qualcomm is also preparing new processors with higher performance and higher prices and lower performance but cheaper prices, giving consumers more choices.
Previously, the media had exposed in advance that Qualcomm is preparing the SC8280 processor with performance comparable to Apple’s M1 chip, which is relatively better in terms of performance.
Of course, better performance means higher prices. Since Qualcomm wants to provide a full range of products, then Qualcomm has to honestly launch new cheaper processors.
The company plans to work with partners to launch laptops priced as low as $300, so processor price is also a key factor.
So the media this time exposed Qualcomm’s SC7295 processor under development. This ARM processor also only provides better compatibility for desktop platforms.
In terms of performance, the processor has three large cores of 2.4GHz and four small cores of 1.8GHz. It may be similar to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 775 processor.
However, there is little information leaked and it is not clear about the power consumption of the processor and other information. It is said that Qualcomm is testing on Windows 10 64-bit version.
