Qualcomm releases the Snapdragon 865 Plus processor
Qualcomm released the new generation flagship smartphone processor, Snapdragon 865 Plus processor last night. Qualcomm said that it is the successor of the Snapdragon 865 processor, and its performance is increased by about 10%.
This new processor is equipped with the fifth-generation Qualcomm AI engine, which can provide better photography, audio, and gaming experience. At the same time, the GPU driver can still be downloaded by users in the Play Store. Support for the screen refresh rate is up to 144Hz.
Qualcomm said that the Snapdragon 865 Plus processor has been upgraded in the following ways compared to the Snapdragon 865 processor:
- The Kryo 585 CPU has had its clock speed boosted up to a maximum of 3.1GHz, which is 10 percent higher than the standard 865
- The Adreno 650 GPU offers 10 percent faster graphics rendering
- Newly added compatibility for Qualcomm’s FastConnect 6900 connectivity suite, which the company says supports Wi-Fi speeds up to 3.6Gbps
Qualcomm confirmed in the press release that both ASUS ROG Phone 3 and Lenovo Legion gaming phone will be equipped with Snapdragon 865 Plus processor, and other mass-produced mobile phones equipped with Snapdragon 865 Plus processor will also be launched in the third quarter of this year.
