QNAP launched dual 25GbE port network cards

QNAP Systems, Inc. announced the launch of a new network expansion card, model QXG-25G2SF-CX6, which can provide a convenient and quick upgrade method for storage devices and workstations to meet the development needs of next-generation networks.
QXG-25G2SF-CX6 uses NVIDIA Mellanox ConnectX -6 Lx SmartNIC intelligent network chip, supports PCIe Gen 4 (compatible with PCIe Gen3 and Gen2), two 25 GbE ports (SFP28) are configured. It can provide a transmission speed of 25 Gbps and can combine bandwidth through the Port Trunking link aggregation function, provides data transmission speeds of up to 50 Gbps to meet the needs of intensive data transmission and large file sharing. Supports SR-IOV and RoCE at the same time, which can reduce latency, enhance performance and improve efficiency in a VMware virtualized environment. QXG-25G2SF-CX6 is fully suitable for the QNAP NAS solution and can be used with QNAP’s switches to establish an affordable and high-speed network environment.

As a product specially designed for data-intensive and high-end commercial customers, QXG-25G2SF-CX6 is suitable for a working environment where multiple PCs/workstations transmit at the same time. Its application performance is highly correlated with the overall hardware configuration. To fully enjoy the 25 Gbps transmission speed, higher requirements must be met:

1) At least three workstations with Intel® Core™ i5/i7 processors (or similar) at 3.3 GHz (or higher) and NVMe SSDs.
2) A QNAP NAS with an Intel® Core™ i5/i7 processor (or similar) with NVMe SSDs and/or Enterprise-level SATA SSDs (SLC/MLC). At least 12 SSDs are recommended.
QXG-25G2SF-CX6 supports QTS 4.5.2 / QuTS hero h4.5.2 (or newer version), Windows 10 / Windows Server, Linux operating system, but the driver needs to be installed in Windows and Linux operating systems. QXG-25G2SF-CX6 is already on the shelves in the QNAP accessories store, priced at $307.
