Purism shares the Librem 5 phones and PureOS UI photos
With the first batch of open-source Linux smartphone after Librem 5 of the sale, Purism began to share more information about the current hardware and Linux-based PureOS UI photos. Librem 5 mobile phone (codename Aspen) has a black anodized aluminum casing, and the backing is made of a non-metallic material to maintain high radio reception quality. In addition, we also saw that the back cover has a relatively flat and easy to slide the hardware off switch.
From the photos, they managed to make the hardware switch have the right shape, but Purism also warned that there might be some alignment problems, and the original phone switch cover was not completed.
On the operating system side, Librem 5 relies on its custom Wayland shell, Debian-based PureOS to provide a tailored software experience and GNOME applications, Purism said that PureOS’s software update experience is safe and convenient.
