Phison Electronics launched the new PCIe 5.0 controllers E31T

The annual COMPUTEX Taipei, an international computer exhibition, is slated to take place from May 30th to June 2nd, 2023, in Taipei, at the Nangang Exhibition Hall Pavilions 1 and 2. This year, the focal themes will encompass high-efficiency computing, intelligent applications, next-generation communication, transcending reality, innovation and startups, and sustainable green energy.

Phison Electronics unveiled their flagship PCIe 5.0 controller, PS5026-E26, last year, aimed at enterprise-grade and high-end desktop gaming SSDs. On the eve of the COMPUTEX Taipei exhibition this year, they announced the launch of a low-power PCIe 5.0 DRAM-Less SSD controller, the PS5031-E31T. Manufactured using a 7nm process, it offers maximum read and write speeds of up to 10.5 GB/s, embodying a PCIe 5.0 controller solution that balances both performance and power consumption.

Furthermore, Phison Electronics has concurrently launched a new generation of PCIe 4.0 DRAM-Less SSD controller, the PS5027-E27T, produced using a 12nm process. This controller achieves maximum read and write speeds of up to 7400 MB/s and 6400 MB/s respectively. Phison Electronics assert that the PCIe 5.0 PS5031-E31T and the PCIe 4.0 PS5027-E27T controller solutions can cater to the requirements of different PC OEM partner customers.

At this year’s COMPUTEX Taipei, Phison Electronics will also showcase a full range of enterprise-grade SSDs, including the PCIe 4.0 SSD X1 and P1 storage solutions that support Dual-port and Single-port with maximum capacities of up to 32TB, as well as the PCIe 5.0 PS5026-E26DC and PCIe 4.0 PS5018-E18DC storage solutions that support the new E1.S form factor design.

Phison Electronics acknowledges that with the evolution of AI servers and cloud services, the demand for such enterprise-grade SSDs will escalate. These enterprise-grade products will aid enterprises, data centers, cloud services, and AI servers, among others, in overcoming the challenges associated with various enterprise-level storage applications.
