Personal OneDrive desktop no longer supports sync on Windows 7/8/8.1 on March 1, 2022
Microsoft Personal OneDrive desktop will stop supporting Windows 7/8/8.1 starting March 1, 2022. If you are still using these operating systems, you can only access it through the OneDrive web version, and the Personal OneDrive desktop will become an offline stand-alone version that no longer supports synchronization.
In short, the Personal OneDrive desktop sync app will no longer support Windows 8.1 and below from March 1, and only Windows 10 and Windows 11 can continue to be used. If you sign in to OneDrive with a work or school account, the Personal OneDrive desktop version will continue to be supported until January 10, 2023. After the expiration, Windows 8.1 and below will no longer be supported, and only Windows 10 and above will be supported.
After the Personal OneDrive desktop stops supporting the old operating system, if users still want OneDrive, they can only continue to upload and download files through the web version.
