Both PS195 and PS196 conversion chips comply with VESA DisplayPort v2.0 and HDMI v2.1 specifications, the DisplayPort receiver can support four groups of HBR3 (8.1 Gbps) rate channels and supports display stream compression technology (DSC), can directly decode or transmit compressed data at the DisplayPort receiver to HDMI output.
The HDMI output includes four groups of channels that support the FRL protocol, and each group works at a transmission rate of 12 Gbps and can support up to 10K display resolution through display stream compression technology. The current HDMI 2.1 specification can support Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), and Quick Media Switching (QMS) to enhance the display function. In addition, the HDMI output is backward compatible with HDMI 2.0 or earlier and can provide TMDS signals with a transmission rate of up to 6 Gbps in compatibility mode.
According to Parade Technologies, the PS195 and PS196 products are currently the best power performance available on the market. They have extremely low power consumption data in standby and low-power modes and are very suitable for use in portable devices. “PS19x HDMI 2.1 converter family enables HDMI 2.1 on host systems and accessories to bring about 8K and higher display resolution,” says Jimmy Chiu, Executive VP of Marketing at Parade Technologies. “Parade continues the success of the PS185/PS186 DP 1.4 – HDMI 2.0 converter family.”
