OPPO launches Find N folding screen, no gap and capable camera

Another manufacturer that has entered the field of folding screen mobile phones, is OPPO. At the technology conference 2021 held on December 15, OPPO released its first folding screen flagship – OPPO Find N. According to reports, in addition to the new folding screen, many new products were unveiled at this conference, including AR glasses, the first NPU for high-end computing to assist photographers, etc.

The protagonist of this conference is undoubtedly the new OPPO Find N folding screen, which is the first product after the return of OnePlus co-founder Pete Lau and OPPO. The media stated that it has solved several pain points of modern folding screens, such as creases and screen damage.

As for the solution, according to OPPO’s introduction, Find N uses the industry’s first pseudo-vertical hinge, which can better store the flexible screen during the folding process to reduce the occurrence of creases. And its inner screen is a 120Hz refresh rate folding screen, made of UTG ultra-thin flexible glass, which can also be almost without creases.

Speaking of its configuration, OPPO Find N uses an internal folding design, the external screen is an 18:9 ratio screen, and when unfolded, it is an 8:4:9 ratio, 7.1-inch horizontal screen. No need to rotate 90° to get a large-screen visual experience. The edge of the external screen adopts 3D slightly curved design, and the curved body can bring a good feel.

In terms of core functions, the machine is equipped with a Snapdragon 888 processor instead of the newly released Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor and with 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512 GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
OPPO Find N uses a 32-megapixel lens on the inner screen and a three-camera design on the outside. The three lenses are respectively 50 million IMX766 main cameras + 16 million ultras wide-angle + 13 million telephoto cameras.

As for the price, OPPO Find N’s price is RMB7,699($1,200/€1070) for the 8GB/256GB version and RMB8,999 ($1,410/€1240) for the 12GB/512GB units.
