OnePlus 9 series will use Oxygen OS in outside of mainland China
Since the confirmation of OnePlus’s return to the OPPO Group, quite a few users of OnePlus have started to ask the CEO of OnePlus Liu Zuohu when OnePlus can use OPPO’s ColorOS operating system, which has been praised repeatedly in recent years.
Today, OnePlus CEO Liu Zuohu suddenly announced that the OnePlus 9 series will adopt ColorOS, and the Oxygen OS of previous models will continue to be maintained and updated.
Although it is a good thing for many users to adopt ColorOS on OnePlus phones, there are still many people who like the brisk and native style, so they don’t want to use the deeply customized ColorOS.
Of course, this is particularly uncomfortable for users outside of mainland China. After all, the fact that OnePlus can sell so well has a lot to do with the native OS it carries.
Therefore, OnePlus employees in charge of Oxygen OS posted on the forum that they would only provide ColorOS in the Chinese market, while the global market will still provide Oxygen OS, and will continue to provide a fast and smooth experience.
OxygenOS Product Lead writes:
after listening to their feedback and voices, our China market devices will now be using a customized version of ColorOS, tailored specifically for OnePlus smartphones, starting with the upcoming OnePlus 9 series.
For all of our users outside of mainland China, we will continue using OxygenOS for global devices in the future and remain committed to offering a fast and smooth experience with OxygenOS.
