OLED version of iPad Pro may be equipped with M4

Apple will hold a special event titled “Let Loose” on the evening of May 7, 2024, unveiling a new range of iPad products. To date, Apple has managed to prevent leaks of hardware specifications admirably, and although there are numerous rumors in the market, no definitive conclusions have been reached yet. It is widely believed that the OLED version of the iPad Pro will be equipped with the M3 chip.

According to Wccftech, the upcoming OLED iPad Pro model may not feature the recently released M3 chip but rather the M4 chip, which boasts a “powerful neural network engine” and enhanced artificial intelligence (AI) performance, positioning the new product as Apple’s first AI-driven device. At this stage, artificial intelligence serves as an excellent promotional feature, allowing Apple to respond to the recent AI craze in the technology sector.

There has indeed been considerable buzz regarding the M4 chip, though its release is more likely slated for the end of this year or early next year. If the OLED iPad Pro opts for the M4, it likely indicates that the chip is not a brand-new architectural design but rather a targeted improvement. Rumors suggest Apple plans to invest heavily in integrating artificial intelligence across its product line, offering AI hardware acceleration, with the M4 series focusing on enhancing the neural network engine’s processing capabilities.

Reports indicate that Apple will launch new versions of the iPad Pro and iPad Air, along with brand-new Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil accessories, possibly marking one of the largest single-day updates to Apple’s tablet lineup. The OLED iPad Pro will be the star of the event, with new models available in 11-inch and 12.9-inch sizes, featuring improved display quality, such as deeper blacks and higher color accuracy.
