Nvidia released the GeForce RTX 30 LHR series
NVIDIA announced the official launch of the GeForce RTX 30 series LHR version. Its LHR is the abbreviation of “Lite Hash Rate”, which means that the new GPU will have a new version of the cryptocurrency mining limiter. Nvidia said that the new measures are limited to the new version of the graphics card with the LHR logo, excluding the old version of the graphics card that has been sold. However, Nvidia did not specifically explain how the new version of the cryptocurrency mining limiter is restricted. Although no specific data is given, it is confirmed that the hash rate of the GeForce RTX 30 series LHR version will be halved.
Of course, this is not the first time NVIDIA has introduced such a limiter. When the GeForce RTX 3060 12GB was released in February this year, NVIDIA added relevant restrictions for the first time. However, due to the Nvidia GeForce 470.05 Beta driver for CUDA on SWL released by Nvidia itself, the so-called restrictions exist in name only. After several months, NVIDIA has introduced the improved cryptocurrency mining limiter. In addition to the released GeForce RTX 3080/RTX 3070/RTX 3060 Ti, the upcoming GeForce RTX 3080 Ti/RTX 3070 Ti will also have the same limiter.
Nvidia clearly stated that its major partners will clearly mark the difference between the graphics card packaging and the graphics card itself in the use of GeForce RTX 30 series LHR GPUs so that customers can know what they are buying. Nvidia did not mention the GeForce RTX 3060 in this announcement, but the manufacturer has determined that it will also update the version. After the launch of the GeForce RTX 30 series LHR version this time, the lineup and changes of the GeForce RTX 30 series are as follows
